What LinkDrop does
LinkDrop turns a PDF into a share link. You upload the file once, send the link, and see who opened it, which pages they read and how long they stayed. Your AI agent can do the same through the LinkDrop MCP server, including sharing a file straight from your Google Drive. See Connect your agent and Getting a file to your agent.
Only PDFs can be shared today.
- Go to lnkdrp.com and click Get started or Log in.
- Sign-in is through Google only. There is no password to set. The same button signs you up the first time and logs you in after that.
- During early access, new accounts may be placed on a waiting list. You are emailed when your account is ready.
- The first time you get in, a short setup asks for your workspace name, your name, and when to email you about visits. You can leave the setup at any step with Skip for now; answers from the steps you already saved are kept, and each one can be changed later in the dashboard.
Upload a PDF
- Click Upload in the left sidebar.
- Drop a PDF anywhere on the page, or click Choose a PDF. A preview appears first. Nothing is uploaded until you click Upload & create link.
- Files chosen this way can be up to 250 MB.
- To bring in a file that is already online, paste a public PDF link or a Google Drive share link under Import from a link and click Import. Imported files can be up to 50 MB.
- Processing takes a moment: the text is extracted, a preview image is made and an AI summary with key points is written. The document status moves from Preparing… to Ready.
The automatic summary costs 1 credit. Every Free workspace starts with 100 credits, one time. If you are out of credits, the upload and its links still work; the summary is skipped and you can write it later from the document page. An owner or admin can turn the automatic summary off with Summarize every upload under Dashboard, then Limits. See Credits and plans.
On Free, up to 10 documents can be shared at once, and each one can carry as many links as you need. At the limit, archive a document you no longer need or upgrade to Pro.
Get the share link
- Every document gets a default share link the moment it is created. Once the document is ready, copy it with the copy button beside the link on the document page.
- The link works as soon as the file has uploaded. The summary shows up for readers once it has been written.
- Password protection and download control are available on every plan.
- You can add more links to the same document, one per audience, each with its own settings and stats. See Share links.
- To send several documents to the same person as one link, group them in a project. See Projects.
Send it
Paste the link into an email or a message. Recipients do not need an account. Privacy and security explains what is recorded about them. The link opens in the LinkDrop viewer on any device, and readers can open the summary and key points from the Summary button at the top.
What you see first
- The document page shows the status, a preview, the links on the document and a quick stats card. Links and Metrics at the top open the full pages.
- The metrics page for each document shows views, downloads and views by day. See Analytics.
- The dashboard Overview shows your plan and current usage, an activity graph, and pages viewed, new documents and share views. It covers the last 30 days on every plan.
- Activity in the sidebar is a feed of everything that happens in the workspace: uploads, link changes, opens and downloads.
- Contacts in the sidebar lists the people who have introduced themselves, signed in to read or asked to download, plus anyone you add yourself. See Contacts.
- By default you get an email within a few minutes of someone opening one of your links. To get one email a day or none, change When someone opens a link to Daily digest or Off under Dashboard, then Notifications. See Notifications and visit briefs.
- Opens, visit briefs and new documents can also post to a Slack channel. See Slack.
Connect your agent
Click Agents in the sidebar to open /agents, which walks you through connecting Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or another MCP client to this workspace. Once connected, your agent can share PDFs, create links and read the numbers for you. Setup guides for each client are at /mcp.
Workspaces
Your account starts with one workspace, which you name when you sign up. Create more for other companies, funds or clients, and invite people to any of them. Each workspace has its own documents, projects, plan, credits and connected agents, and is billed separately.
- Open Dashboard from the menu under your name at the bottom of the left sidebar.
- Create a workspace from Dashboard, then Workspace, then Create workspace….
- On Free, you can own two workspaces. If any workspace you own is on Pro, the limit is lifted.
- Switch workspaces from the menu under your name at the bottom of the left sidebar, or from Dashboard, then Workspace.
See Teams and workspaces for roles and invitations, and Pricing for what each plan includes. If something is not working, Contact support.
